Hello Sue,

Thanks for your message. As far as I know the plant to the left of the Yucca tree is also a Yucca, and it is Yucca filamentosa. I grew one of these at my previous house and there it was a home to large families of snails. Here I have no such 'lodgers'. LOL.

Re the Yucca Tree, I have been told that it is best to leave the dead flower heads in place. I don't really have much alternative here because of the height of the tree and the prickly spines at the end of the other 'leaves'. The only trouble is that when the present ones die back I will have around 13 dead heads which are about 18 ins. long.
