Wind Power Cost – a Debate

This page - Wind Power Cost - is a departure from our money saving pages and is intended as a thought provoking, comment generating page.

Wind Power Cost.

Although the subject of wind power and wave power does not appear to have any immediate money saving attributes, these alternative forms of power will have enormous potential for saving money when set against the continuous and increasing demand, and in the end, diminishing oil reserves.

These systems have the ability to create electricity without which no established civilisation can exist.

Therefore, wind power cost needs to be investigated.

Wind is variable - tides are constant - just as night follows day.

So.....this begs the question - which would you prefer to see, wind farms scattered over some of the wildest and most beautiful scenery in the British Isles, or huge water barriers at various points of our coastline, i.e., the Bristol Channel or parts of the Thames?

Will the wind power system be overshadowed by the cost of wave power?

What are the benefits of either system?

Why not let us know?

The space and the time is yours.

All you have to do is type and tell us what you think.

Wave or Wind - which would be the most cost effective and efficient
form of energy for the future?

To really put the cat amongst the pigeons, is there really such a thing as 'global warming'? This is now the view held by many eminent scientists who say that recent surveys indicate that the ice flows have increased by 25% during the past year or so.

Looking back over history to the 19th century, this was the time when the River Thames froze over and was the site of the Winter Fairs with braziers being lit on the ice for warmth and cooking snacks. This can all be seen at The Frost Fairs

There were not the facilities then for sending research ships to the Pole to ascertain what the ice flow was doing - melting or remaining static, so it is impossible to see this side of the argument. However, many scientists have been saying for some time now that the 'global warming' theory is, pardon the phrase, a load of hot air.
