TOO LITTLE MONEY -TOO MANY WANTS

Hi

I have never had a lot of money due to my circumstances and I have recently retired and do not want to go through the rest of my life with the same worries. I have some debts (about £8,000) which are being cleared slowly. I also have a penchant for shopping, which is the only vice I allow myself. I pay off all my bills every month and am never in arrears. The little money I have over (when I do) goes on sale clothes. I have set up a savings plan but invariably I have to draw on the money to pay the bills. My partner (who does not live with me) criticizes me greatly for spending any money on clothes. He says I should be spending it all on my grandchildren now. My argument is that I don't smoke or drink, don't have a mortgage or a car. Rarely have holidays. So why shouldn't I treat myself.

Thanks

Jeane
