The Yogurt Saver
I put on a few pounds when I moved to a cold snowy ski resort. I finally found a system that worked to lose my excess weight. My secret weapon? Thick, creamy yogurt and lots of mountain walks.
I buy a tub of natural, organic Olympic yogurt. Plain flavor works best. I then put a paper coffee filter in a sifter and balance the sifter over a glass mixing bowl. I scoop the yogurt into the coffee filter and let it drain overnight in the fridge.
The result? Thick tasty yogurt. I then mix it with whatever I want, pop it into a tupperware container and take it for a mid morning snack. It's filling because it's protein.
My favorite toppings are: homemade apple sauce... dates... dried apricots with coconut sprinkled on top... pure maple syrup... and raspberry jam.
