Maltese Dog Named Ruff

My son and I bought a pure bred Maltese dog 9 years ago in 2000. (Back when the economy was still good!.) My son named him Ruff. He was cute as a puppy and is still just as cute today. (Well almost!)

Before we got Ruff, we had never had a small dog before. Big dogs are great but small dogs rock! He has added so much to our lives. Of course, Ruff is surrounded by all cats, so that being said, (I think) he thinks he's a cat by now. He is much smaller than my 5 cats, but all my cats allow him to clean them and are very tolerant of anything he does, including an occasional humping! lol

Ruff loves to play with his toys and run around. Of course, he loves to sleep too! He sleeps with me every night and is my BFF at home! He sure loves his mommy!

Another cool thing about Ruff is that he and my son both share the same birthday, only 10 years apart. When my son has his birthday party, well we have to celebrate with Ruff too!

Ruff is getting older now, but he is still a joy to have around. I worry about the day he gets really old and I have to part with him. I want him to live forever.

That's the hardest part about owning a dog. We love them so much, we don't want them to ever leave us. But I wouldn't trade him for all the tea in China and the time that he does give us has been precious. I would rather have loved and lost, than to never loved at all!
