I've lost the will to live
(Milton Keynes, United Kingdom)
Not really, but over the past 30 years I have lost over 100 pounds in weight.
Unfortunately in the same time I've gained 110. Now I am 54, I have officially quit slimming. The moment came a couple of days ago.
My mother stayed for Christmas, and bought a massive Christmas pudding. It was wonderful, rich and succulent and went down beautifully with lashings of custard. Then a couple of days ago she went home.
Time to celebrate! I found the rest of the pudding was still in the fridge. I did something terrible. I actually looked at the calories and sugar content.
How awful is that? One eighth of the pudding contained 59.6 grams of sugar. I am diabetic, and I decided that death by Christmas pudding is not a pretty sight. I can't imagine why, but I threw it away.
I have been in mourning ever since.
