Home Burn Remedies
Amongst the many home burn remedies - of which there are many - the following are probably the most popular and sensible.
Always remember if the burn is entensive it will probably be necessary to seek professional help. If in doubt - don't hang about, time is of the essence. If you have a journey to make, cover the burn area with a clean cloth to reduce the risk of infection. Do not attempt to treat a serious burn with any salve or medicine.
The remedies given below are for minor burns such as those sustained in contact with a hot cooking stove or any other minor domestic type burn.
HOME BURN REMEDIES 1. Top of the list is likely to be putting the burn under or into cold water. If this is a ‘household’ burn sustained whilst cooking, this is easy. Just hold the burn under the running cold water tap until the painful sensation has subsided. This is the most standard of all the home burn remedies.

2. The next solution is Aloe Vera show above. This is a succulent plant with fleshy ‘leaves’ that many people grow as a houseplant. It is easy to grow, requires little attention but always has plenty of leave for use in an emergency. To treat a burn cut off one of the fleshy leaves, split it in half with a knife and rub the moist flesh that has been exposed gently over the burn. This plant has been used over hundreds of years for medicinal and cosmetic use and at some time in history was known as the Burn Plant. 3. The following was received via email and is passed on to you as it concerns home burn remedies: I was cooking some corn on the cob, stuck my fork in the boiling to test the corn. I missed and my hand went In the boiling water.... As I was screaming, a friend of mine, who was a Vietnam vet, came into the house, asked me if I had some plain old flour...I Pulled out a bag and he stuck my hand in it. He said to keep my hand In the flour for 10 mins. He said that in Vietnam , this guy was on fire and in their panic, they threw a bag of flour all over him to put out the fire. Well, it not only worked but he never even had a blister! Sooooo, long story short, I put my hand in the bag of flour for 10 mins, pulled it out and had not even a red mark or a blister and absolutely NO PAIN. Now, I keep a bag of flour in the fridge and every time I burn myself,I use the flour and never ONCE have I ever had a red spot, a burn or a blister! Cold flour feels even better than room temperature flour. Miracle, if you ask me. Keep a bag of white flour in your fridge and you will be happy you did. | There are many weird and wonderful burn remedies in circulation including Colgate toothpaste, raw potato, baking powder, cold vinegar, Milk of Magnesia, cold used tea bags, yellow mustard, tea tree oil – and probably many more.
