Suddenly people have come to realise how important bees are to the rural economy and the production of food. The Empire Farm is a 100 acre organic farm on the edge of the Blackmore Vale, just south of Wincanton in Somerset, where organic geese, ducks, chickens, turkeys, and pigs - mostly traditional and rare - breeds are raised. There are a variety of courses available to people interested in running a small holding. Plus a pork butchery and sausage making day.
