This hardly seems to be the time for thinking about the coming winter, but spare a thought for your garden plants that will be sitting outside in the cold soil during the winter weather.

Take a look at our page The Vegetable Allotment then just scroll down to April, 2009 to see how very easy it is starting your own neat and tidy compost patch in a very small space.

If you follow this course you will have a good supply of compost to tuck around your plants and keep them warm during winter. They will appreciate it and so will you when you see the generous display they produce next summer.

A win, win situation. Where there's muck there's money.

Until next month, kind regards, Jo.
