Everyone loves a bargain Ė something cheap, but not nasty. So how about something tasty?

There has been much publicity in the media about having an allotment and growing your own food. Do you have a garden and can you allocate a corner for a veggie patch?

Have you seen our page There you can read about the success of my fruit garden, and also read about my mistake - never to be repeated!

This time of the year is a good time to start planning where to site your vegetable plot, you will have ample time to dig and prepare the soil.

Having just harvested the strawberries, some raspberries, beetroot, tomatoes grown in a Grow Bag and a good crop of potatoes grown in large pots, has inspired me to move further on to a proper vegetable plot for next year.

In all honesty, I never expected such good results first time round. The price of a packet of seed compared to the beetroot actually produced bears no comparison. Plus the sense of achievement is fantastic. Definitely a save-money job!

Also, donít forget the page which has several tips to start both you and your children on the right route.

Happy digging.

Until next month, take care. Jo.
